The idea that leadership stems solely from a single person or even a small elite is a myth. Looking for that one heroic or strong leader is to misunderstand leadership. Everyone in some way contributes to leadership in an organisation or community. This is the essential point of distributed leadership. Recognising leadership as a distributed process was the starting point for the work featured in this website. The big question is how well and how fairly leadership works in practice and how it can serve people’s growth and learning.
